# A shared dictionary for team dictation | DictationDesk

DictationDesk teams share one dictionary and one snippet list: an admin adds a client name or product term once, and every member's dictation spells it right after they press Sync. Teams hold up to 50 members, and the admin sees each member's words this month.

## The problem

Every dictation tool gets your company's names wrong, and each person fixes it separately in their own settings, if at all. New joiners start from zero.

## How to do it with DictationDesk

1. **Create a team**: In your dashboard open Team and create one. You become its admin.
2. **Invite people**: Share the invite link. Members join with their own account.
3. **Add team words**: In Dictionary, add an entry and choose the team scope. Fill “heard as” when the engine keeps writing it wrong, for example “dictation desk” → DictationDesk.
4. **Add team snippets**: Add shared snippets such as the office address or the support email signature.
5. **Members press Sync**: In the Windows app, Sync pulls the team dictionary and snippets. Personal entries win if both exist.

## Tips

- Only admins can edit team entries; members can still keep personal words.
- Use “heard as” for names the recogniser splits into common words.
- Usage per member helps you see who is actually using dictation.

## When DictationDesk is not the right tool

DictationDesk does not have single sign-on, admin policies or audit logs yet. If your company needs those for every tool, it is not ready for you; for small teams that want shared spelling and snippets, it is.

Nothing extra: each member's usage is priced like any account — free for 3 months, then at cost.

### Can a member leave?

Yes, members can leave a team from the Team page.

Where things stand: the DictationDesk Windows app is in private testing and not downloadable yet. Today you can create your account, set up your dictionary, snippets and team, and try the AI clean-up in your browser. We email you when the app is ready. macOS and phone keyboards are planned, with no date yet.

Price: free for your first 3 months, with everything unlocked. After that you pay only for what you use, at our cost with no markup: about ₹2.20 per hour of cloud audio and ₹0.02 per AI clean-up (our estimates). Offline dictation is ₹0. No card needed to start.
