Terms of use
Last updated 4 November 2026 · Surge Software Solutions Private Limited
1. These terms
These terms apply when you use DictationDesk at dictationdesk.com, an AI dictation service: a Windows app with cloud speech-to-text and AI clean-up, and a web dashboard operated by Surge Software Solutions Private Limited ("Surge", "we"), Sy No. 13/1, #155, Shop No. 2, 1st Floor, 4th Main, BEML Layout, Thubrahalli, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560066, India. By creating an account or using DictationDesk, you agree to them. If you use DictationDesk for a company, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.
How we handle personal data is in our privacy policy (/privacy).
2. Price and billing
DictationDesk is free for the first 3 months (90 days from sign-up). After that you pay only for what you use, at what it costs us with no markup, from a prepaid balance you add through Razorpay. The current rates are on our pricing page (/pricing).
There is no subscription, and nothing is charged without your action. We will tell account holders in advance of any change to how we charge. Unused prepaid balance is refundable on request at any time; see our refund and cancellation policy (/refunds).
3. Your account
Give accurate details and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity in your account.
You must be 18 or older.
Tell us at [email protected] if you think your account has been misused.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use DictationDesk to: break any law, including anti-spam, privacy, consumer and intellectual-property laws; send spam or unsolicited messages; break the terms of a connected platform such as Google or Microsoft; upload content you have no right to use, or content that is harmful, deceptive or abusive; impersonate others or create deepfakes of real people without their consent; or attack, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or get around usage limits.
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules.
5. Your content
You keep all rights in what you upload and in the results you create. You give us permission to store and process it only to run DictationDesk for you. You are responsible for having the right to upload it, including any personal data of other people (such as your team members and anyone whose names or details you dictate). Where you process their data in DictationDesk, you are the data fiduciary and we process it for you.
6. AI results
AI can be wrong. Check results before you rely on them or send them to others. You decide what to publish, send or act on.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep DictationDesk running, but it is provided "as is" and may change, pause or have downtime. Some features are marked "coming soon" or "preview" and may not work fully. If we retire DictationDesk, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Surge is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit, revenue or data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending
You can stop using DictationDesk and close your account at any time from its settings or by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
10. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction. If we change these terms, we will update the date on this page and tell account holders of important changes by email.
